mule crankcase fills with gas

Mule 610 When we trailer it to the lease the starter will not engage if you hit the switch more than once the crankcase fills with gas.I figure the pump is bad but don’t understand the starter thing???????????
I also have a problem with the crankcase filling with gas… Does anybody have a suggestion as to what the cause might be?
